Brooke Schmidt | Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Hi! I'm so glad you're here!
I am a wife, mom of three, and a therapist who believes that your relationships don’t have to be perfect to feel peaceful and connected. I've been married since 2006, and I'm currently raising a middle schooler and two elementary schoolers so when I talk about the joys and challenges of marriage and parenting, I really get it!
I come from a Christian faith background, and I’m always happy to integrate faith into therapy IF that’s important to you, and I also love meeting people right where they’re at. I deeply respect the cultural, family and spiritual values of each of my clients.
My work centers on helping people break free from the old patterns that are keeping them stuck, so they can experience more connection, clarity, and calm in their everyday lives. That might mean untangling how past family dynamics are still showing up in your marriage or learning how to parent in a way that feels more grounded and less reactive.
I’m a systems-trained therapist, which means I take a big-picture view of how your past (especially your family of origin) is influencing your present relationships. We’ll figure out those early patterns, and shift them, so that your current relationships, especially with your partner and kids, feel more authentic, loving, regulating, and emotionally available.
I’m a lifelong learner (I can’t help myself, I’m a total therapy nerd!). I spend close to 100 hours each year on continuing education and advanced training in areas like nervous system healing, trauma, inner child work, and emotionally focused therapy. If you're curious about what I've been diving into lately, scroll down to check out some of my additional training and certifications.

Why Childhood Roles Still Shape Us Today
Did you know that the roles you played in your family as a child are still influencing your relationships today, and it’s often in ways you don't even realize! Maybe you were the high-achieving Hero, the invisible Lost Child, or the blamed Scapegoat. Whatever the case, these roles shaped your emotional world and coping strategies. In this post, we’ll break down these three roles, why they develop, and how they can show up in your adult life and relationships.
